HealthPartners has a well-established program to motivate providers in our network to ensure high quality, safe and cost effective care to our members. Our philosophy is to motivate and enable providers to offer the right care at the right time and at the right level through several programs promote patient safety. Also, HealthPartners does not reimburse providers for Never Events, which are events that should never happen in a care setting. These include patient falls, medication errors and others mistakes.

Pharmacy Programs

HealthPartners is a leader in developing successful programs that improve patient safety and medications. Some of these programs include:

HealthPartners RxCheckup

HealthPartners RxCheckup, a medication management program, offers assistance to at-risk members. The RxCheckup program is designed for members who:

  • Take multiple medications
  • Often see more than one care provider
  • Have questions or concerns about their prescriptions and may have compliance issues

Drug Recalls, Withdrawals, and Safety Advisories

Members and providers affected by a recall are notified within 30 days of an FDA notification, with an expedited process used for emergency recalls. HealthPartners also sends communications to members and providers for significant product withdrawals and other safety advisories.

Regions Hospital

HealthPartners Regions Hospital is among one of the best hospitals in Minnesota, according to a new initiative by The Leapfrog Group, an organization that compares hospitals' performance on the national standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
The Leapfrog Group awarded each hospital with a common letter-grade, "A", "B", "C", "D" or "F", as a way to provide the public with an easy way to compare hospital safety standards.

Regions Hospital took home an "A" in the Hospital Safety Scores and was one of 17 Minnesota hospitals to do so. Criteria for the letter grades included evaluating each hospital's ability to prevent patient injuries, medical and medication errors and infections.
